ABOUT US!

Alan Whitlock has been writing first aid books since 1992, soon after the development work he completed as a joint project for the St John Ambulance and the H.S.E. The Health and Safety Executive in the United Kingdom commissioned the St. John Ambulance to write a First Aid at Work manual prior to when the NVQ system was about to be introduced. Alan was asked to develop and write this manual and FIRST AID EXPLAINED is a descendant of that original publication. Up to now Alan has produced five book(lets) in response to demand in both content and cost. His latest one, for paediatric first aid, was published in late August 2004. Alan's background in training started in the '80s where he was responsible for developing training courses for the cabin service section of British Airways. Currently over 600 first aid training organisations, ambulance services and colleges approved by the H.S.E., and thousands of individuals world-wide have or are still using his books.

SPORTS FIRST AID KIT

This is ideal for higher risk 'contact' sports like football and rugby. Like the smaller kit it contains some elasticated bandages for sprains/ strains and sterile water. A very comprehensive kit for any coach or club physio. Let us know if we can tailor this one for you. Has individual sections that can be detached if required. To order call 0845 300 7676 or email sales@alanjohn.co.uk

THE RIGHT COURSE FOR YOU

We can structure the course and include subjects that YOU feel necessary as well as ones that we may suggest. The four day FIRST AID AT WORK course has a set syllabus (H.S.E. Regulations) but we can give extra emphasis on certain subjects where you require. We can also 'segment' courses so that you can have, for example, a four day course over eight half days. We can train on weekdays, weekends or evenings. We will even train in the night (night-shift) should you wish. Please let us know how we can help you. Prices include a first aid mini-kit for each delegate, certificate presented on the day to save you the administration (copy sent to you), a first aid book and a badge.
