Welcome

The Beacon is an independent day school for boys aged 3 to 13 years. As a preparatory school, we prepare boys for secondary education through a curriculum that offers both richness and diversity of opportunity.

After more than 30 years of working in independent schools, 18 of which have been as a Head, I find myself increasingly convinced that the prep schools of Britain are world beaters - truly jewels in the educational crown of our country. There is an ethos that cannot be quantified, a "magic" in the air which everyone gets caught up in. As a result, remarkable things happen and lives are changed.
