A fundamental element of our ethos at First Class Learning is that mistakes are not failures, but learning opportunities. When a child has corrections to do, my first question is, "Can you see where you went wrong?" More often than not, the child is able to spot their error and explain the correct method. In doing so, they clarify it in their own mind, consolidating their learning. Encouraging children to use corrections in this way, without censuring them, makes them less afraid to make a mistake, and makes them more willing to have a go themselves, instead of immediately turning to an adult for help. Thus they grow into confident, independent learners.

For those students who are taking external exams we are able to offer sessions on exam preparations based on a series of books and activities which focus on problem solving skills/applications. The books are commercially printed and designed for use in schools
